Last night was the FiFi Awards of 2012, where famous faces from Kim Kardashian and Kanye West; to good ol’ Blue made an appearance at the annual ceremony. Asking around I was suprised to hear that not many people knew of this award ceremony, but believe me when I tell you that they’re a BIG deal in the fragrance industry, being called the ‘Oscars’ of the business.

And the winner’s are:

Best New Celebrity Perfume: Justin Bieber Someday

People’s Choice Award for Women: Daisy Eau so Fresh – Marc Jacobs

People’s Choice Award for Men: Armani Code Sport – Giorgio Armani

Best New Fragrance for Women Winner: Elie Saab – Elie Saab

Best New Fragrance for Men Winner: Gucci Guilty Pour Homme – Gucci

Hall of Fame 2012 Winner: Angel – Thierry Mugler

The Lincoln Centre saw the likes of Oscar de la Renta, DKNY, L’Wren Scott, Ralph Lauren and a number of masterful designers take their creations to the runway for New York Fashion Week.

Here’s a selection of the highlights:-

The models of Alexander Wang took to the runway in tropical prints covered with translucent patches of netting and teamed with trainers.

Anna Sui joined Barila and other designers in the revival of the forties.

Romance was in the air, for Calvin Klein, as light chiffon and silk pastels floated down the runway, radiating with innocence and femininity.

The edgy roots that entwine each individual look, makes Diesel one of my favourite all time fashion labels.

The creations of Jason Wu

A breath-taking representation of spring from Lela Rose.

Luca Luca successfully worked with a Grecian inspired bodice as the theme throughout the Spring 2012 collection.

 

An assymetric electricity encased the designs of Narcisco Rodriguez.

Rag & Bone seemed to have the threat of the April Showers in mind when they sent these to the runway.
